We essentially work for the fruit growers, making varieties available to them that present both interesting agronomic characteristics, adapted to their cultivation and a strong sales potential, which will give them maximum profitability in the orchards.
Details of our selection criteria:
The "amateur" market is looking for:
hardy varieties | Varieties that produce regularly every year | Self-fertile varieties that do not require pollination to produce | Varieties that are sufficiently tolerant to diseases to limit or even avoid treatments | Varieties with very good eating quality
They have been tested in different regions, in different climates and have revealed themselves to be hardy in any circumstances. Their quality of taste is known unanimously. FLAVOR COT® is even the most aromatic variety according to studies led by the CTIFL (Centre Technique Interprofessionnel des Fruits et Légumes).
Again, the FLAVOR COT® variety came first in the trials carried out by the CTIFT, the CEMAGREF, the company CONSERVE FRANCE and Vergers Riou for the production of canned apricot halves in syrup.
Management of trees in view of mechanical harvest | Different mechanical harvesting systems | Industrial handling in view of the production of apricot halves
Trials are being gradually implemented in the different testing stations.
We are following this case very closely because the effects of phytosanitary products on human health concern us greatly. Additionally, the governmental measures on the reduction of the number of active substances lead us to adopt a more ecological attitude.
We would like "BIO" experimentation is expanding to all our varieties. If growers are interested to test our varieties in their ORGANIC orchards, we are listening to them and can set up a collaboration contract.
We are looking for "niche products" for the fruit growers who want to stand out from their competitors or be noticed by their clients for their originality.
We have selected the range of nectarines with red flesh from our partner Gérard ROCH. The latter, a fruit grower in the Drôme department, produces niche products in particular, and his fruits are very much enjoyed by his customers. He produces red flesh nectarines, peaches and flat nectarines as well as original varieties that are little-known commercially. A few years ago, he was very interested in red flesh nectarines, which have the same characteristics as the Lyonnais red flesh peach but with the advantage of having smooth skin and being more practical to eat.
